Giving Tuesday

On Tuesday, November 28th our donor community came together and raised over $65,000 to help KPU students in financial need. We invited you to join us in a global movement and we are so grateful for everyone who made a gift and helped spread the word about supporting our students at KPU.

The passion and care that our KPU community has shown keeps us going. These funds raised will help to create quality, life-long learning opportunities for KPU students and to help them achieve personal, social and career success.

Here are some highlights from the extraordinary day:

  • KPU instructors Dr. Candy Ho and John Grant established a $20,000 endowment fund. This endowment fund will award $1,000 annually to a student experiencing financial hardship who is a single parent or grew up in a single-parent household. Read more about their story here.
  • Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society provided $5,000 in matching funds for any KPU alumni who donated to the KPU Alumni Association Endowment Fund during Giving Tuesday.
  • A new food security fund was established for students experiencing food insecurity.

Thank you!
